				QUESTIONS without ANSWERS……yet

					Can you help?

Searching for your ancestors can often bring up more questions than answers, We have listed our stumbling blocks
below, do you or any one you know have the answers to any of these queries?

I have no info on the following families after the early 1900’s

Mark & Amelia (nee Jacobs) Goldberg,
Last sighting on the 1901 census, they were living in Downs Rd Hackney.
No contact with any descendants.

Benjamin & Annie (nee Woolf) Goldberg
Last sighting on their marriage details in 1892 Mile End Old Town. Cannot be found on the 1901 census
No contact with any descendants.

Julius & Carrie (nee Goldberg) Conrich/ Conreich
Last sighting 1901 census, they were living at
28 Bedford St Mile End Old Town.
No contact with any descendants

Israel & Annie (nee Goldstein)
Last sighting, 1916 Israel registers Louis death on the 26th July and is still living at 46 Bedford St. Meot.
No contact with any descendants

Solomon & Ada (nee Goldberg) Thomas
On the tree drawn by Ivor, Ada married Thomas Solomon but in the Daily Mirror cutting of 1949 her name is given
as Ada Thomas, so was his name Solomon Thomas or Thomas Solomon or even Thomas Thomas ?
I have checked marriage records for a marriage between Ada and either a Thomas or Solomon with no luck, I have
also trawled through many shipping lists to the United States but can find no trace of either Ada or
Thomas/Solomon. I have also checked the census records in the USA from the 1930’s but cannot find any trace of
the family. They were living in Los Angeles in 1949.
No contact with any descendants

Phillip & Nettie (nee Goldberg) Benjamin
Another name mystery, with the many combination of names you can have with either Phillip Benjamin or Nettie,
I cannot find any marriage that fits.
Is it Phillip Benjamin or Benjamin Phillips. I cannot find them on the 1901 census. Phillip was a cinema Manager
and managed the Palace in Whitechapel.
No contact with descendants

Martha Goldberg
Martha was supposed to have run away to America, either with Ada or just after Ada left, I can find no trace of
her on any of the shipping lists including the Titanic passenger list.
The last sighting of Martha is living with Harry & Katy Phillips at 104 Sidney St age 13.
No contact with any descendants.

A few other questions………….
Katy & Rachel in speaking in Ginger Beards state they were 11 & 13 years old when they travelled to England,
these ages do not tally with either the date of departure or the ages given on the census both being a few
years out of date. They also say all the children were born in Poland and Martha was not born until 1888, the
family were in England in 1890 as Carrie was marrying Julius Conreich, we are also told the family all travelled
together apart from Mark.
The ladies memories were pretty reliable but they must both have had a touch of vanity that day.
On Sam Goldberg & Hetty Schulmans marriage certificate in 1904 Sam states his fathers name was Judah Goldberg
deceased, it is definitely the right certificate but Sams Father was known as Louis and did not die until 1916.
Hetty said her father was David but also states he was deceased when he was very much alive. Any sensible
solutions gratefully listened too.
