Biography:
Kathleen Coffell (other spellings Coffle, Coffel, Cawfell) . Her mother's name was Catherine Curran
(Sheila's grandmother) , whose parent's were Cornelius Curran and Mary Curran nee Hunt (Sheila's
great-grandparents). Sadly Kathleen died 11 years ago, but she would have been fascinated reading
the family tree, especially to find out some of her family originally came from the Carlisle area,
as she was evacuated to Carlisle from Tyneside during the second world war. Who knows she could have
had relatives still living there? She told me she spent two happy years there. It appears both sides
of her family came from Cumbria. Kathleens Father's Mother, Mary Coffell nee Feenan and his Father
Charles Coffell (Sheila's paternal great-grandparents) also moved to Tyneside from Whitehaven to work
